News of our 90th anniversary as well as our extensive purchases of new equipment for the production of gearing for wind turbines has been covered by North American Windpower magazine.

August 28th, 2009

Our new Gleason - Pfauter P2400/2800 CNC Gear Hobbing Machine w/internal milling head graces our production facility with its presence after a long pleasure cruise from Germany. Hopefully it enjoyed its vacation because after a brief calibration and setup period, we have stacks of blanks ready to run through for pending orders. If it performs anything like it said it would on its resume, it will make short work of them and be ready for more.

Our new site is now online. With new innovations, millions of dollars worth of new equipment and greatly expanded production and repair capacities, what better way to celebrate it than to tell the whole world?

We're proud to announce a new addition to the Ideal Gear family. Ron McFadyen brings his 20 years of power transmission industry experience to us in industries ranging from aerospace and industrial to power generation and mining. His first duties include implementing new inspection, reporting and quality procedures for our repair shop as well as business development and marketing.

In the true spirit of what makes Ideal Gear the company it is, one of the things Ron asked before he would even condsider our offer is that when time permits he would be trained as a journeyman machinist so he could have a clear understanding of the challenges and methodology of what we do. After hearing that, we were sure that we found someone that would work extremely well in our organization and that he was up to the challenges we had in store for him.
